From January 28th – 30th we from SOMAG AG Jena attended this year’s International LiDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF) in Denver, Colorado. For several years now this conference and exhibition has been a fixed date in our calendar of events.
The International LiDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF) is a technical conference and exhibition showcasing the latest airborne, terrestrial, and underwater LiDAR as well as emerging remote-sensing and data collection tools and technologies.
What made this year's event so special was that there were three geospatial events combined to one. International LiDAR Mapping Forum, ASPRS Annual Conference and MAPPS Winter Conference came together to form the Geo Week 2019. Previously, these three events took place separately throughout the year. By uniting these three events for the first time, geospatial professionals were brought together for a powerful combination of education, technology innovation, and commercial exchange. We are also delighted about the high number of visitors, about 1500, that were registered for the ILMF.
At our booth, where we exhibited together with Topoflight and G2 Airborne Systems, our CTO Mr. Schreiber presented our gyro stabilizer CSM 40. This Gyro Stabilization Mount was especially developed for small format cameras and sensors. He explained to the interested visitors how our gyro stabilization devices improve the quality of LiDAR data acquisition.
We look back on a very successful event where the whole geospatial community came together and where we had the pleasure seeing our partners from Phase One and Vexcel with whom we have had interesting conversations.
